If I had to describe Shakina's personality I would say she's almost like Yuko from XXXHolic. Marcus' past is shown in flashbacks is different time settings. His life with Shakina is set round about Spartacus just before Julies Caesar became emperor of Rome. Marcus in this scene is aged fourteen two years before he became immortal. Out hunting monkeys for a blood sustenance for the vampires, he finds Shakina walking through the jungle about to bathe in her pool. With his heart racing he follows her but without knowing, Shakina knows that he's following her which is what she wants.
